Funeral services for Chris J. Anderson, 62, who died at his home in Marion township, Jan. 14, were held Jan. 19 at the home and at the Marion Lutheran church with the Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating.
Singing was furnished by the Marion choir with solos by L. O. Reierson. Mervin Reierson sang "Abide with Me" at the grave in the Marion cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was the son of John and Mallena Anderson and was born May 24, 1881, on the same farm on which he lived all his life. He was baptized and cnfirmed in the Marion Lutheran church. June 30, 1911, he was married to Rosina K. Mork at the Marion Lutheran church and they had nine children, of whom seven are living: Keneth, Dale and Arvid at home; Myron in the U.S. Army, Elver and Carlyle in the U,S. Navy and Bessie, Mrs. Orvin Thompson.
Two sons preceded their father in death, Ernest at birth and Ruthferd at the age of 18, in 1938.
Besides his wife and children, Mr. Anderson leaves a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, a brother Peter of Elgin, a sister Marin, Mrs. C. Hostensen of Inwood, Iowa, and a half-brother, Louie, of Canton, S.D.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Marion Lutheran church.
Casket bearers were Emil Gulsvig, Otto Hanson, Henry Vellersoen, John Hellum, Helmer Loftsgard and Harold Opsand. Flower bearers were Mrs. Wayne Shipton, Shirley Olson and Mae Anderson.
