Funeral services for Fredrich Joachim Possehl, who died at his home near Clayton Center, Dec. 31, were held Sunday at Garnavillo. Mr. Possehl was born Feb. 07, 1869, in Howisch-bei-Neustadt, Schwerin, Germany. He came to America when a child with his parents and they settled in Clayton county.
Mr. Possehl was married Feb. 07, 1895, to Ida Koelke, who died in 1920. Surviving are one son, John, of Garnavillo; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Klinkenberg, of Farmersburg, and Mrs. Laura Funk, of Luana, and one sister, Mrs. Herman Preuss, of Monona. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The Rev. Victor Hackbarth officiated at the funeral services at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church at Garnavillo Sunday afternoon.
