On Saturday morning, July 11, at 9:00 a.m., Miss Helen Raders became the bride of Neil Fredrick Dittmer in a double ring ceremony and nuptial mass read by the Rev. Father Robert Palen in St. Mary's Catholic church in Strawberry Point. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Olive C. Raders and the groom is the son of Arthur Dittmer, both of Strawberry Point. Attending the couple were Mrs. George F. Farrell of Syracuse, New York, sister of the bride, and Edward Burke, Davenport, Iowa, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Donald Eden, Cedar Rapids, brother-in-law of the groom, and Wendell Dittmer, brother of the groom. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Kenneth L. Raders.
The bride is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school; attended the University of Iowa and graduated from the Mercy hospital school of nursing in Cedar Rapids. She served on the staff at Delaware County Memorial hospital in Manchester for a time and for the past year has been surgical nurse at LaMesa, Calif. The groom is also a graduate of Strawberry Point high school and attended Iowa State college at Ames. He served two years in the U.S. Army, one year of which was in Korea, and at present is a student at St. Ambrose college in Davenport.
Following a wedding trip to Minnesota, the new couple will reside in Davenport.
