MONONA: Miss Shirley Marting, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Marting of Monona, became the bride of Roger Holm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Selmer Holm of Gunder, Sunday afternoon, May 19, in St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiating. Miss Mary Lou Marting, sister of the bride, was chosen maid of honor, and Miss Pat Seeland of Cedar Rapids and Miss Barbara Yearous of Elgin were bridesmaids. Edward Lenth of Cedar Rapids served his brother-in-law as best man. Groomsmen were Ronald Larson of Elkader and Wallace Marting, brother of the bride. Ushers were Donald Petitt of Prairie du Chien, cousin of the bride, and Gene Kling of Monona. Lanny Marting, brother of the bride, had charge of the guest book.
After the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors for approximately 250 guests. Miss Patti Pederson of Marquette, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Carl Houg Jr. cut the cake.
The bride is a graduate of the Monona-Farmersburg Community high school and has been employed as a receptionist at the Square D company in Cedar Rapids. The groom was graduated from the Elkader high school and after serving three and one-half years in the Navy has been employed as a set-up man with the Square D company.
The couple will make their home in Fort Wayne, Ind., where Mr. Holm will attend college and major in electronics.
