The marriage of Miss Carol Larson of Elgin, and Arthur Scherf of Elkader, was solemnized Sunday in the Highland Lutheran church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harril B. Larson. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Chris Scherf. The Rev. L. C. Urlaub, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran church of Garnavillo, officiated. Miss Beverly Larson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and John Scherf, brother of the groom, was best man. Robert Tackman, cousin of the groom, and LeRoy Larson, brother of the bride, ushered. Mrs. Carl Funk, sister of the groom, sang before and after the ceremony.
A reception for 120 guests was held in the church parlors, at which Mrs. Dwayne Mueller, sister of the groom, cut the cake, and Mrs. Alfred Kramer poured. Mrs. John Scherf held the guest book, and Miss Ione Larson, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Burnelle Glawe, sister of the groom, were in charge of the gift table.
After a two weeks wedding trip to Arizona, the couple will live on his father's farm east of Elkader.
