Miss Darleen Schmalfeld, eldest daughter of Mrs. Mahala Schmalfeld of Guttenberg, became the bride of Lloyd Matt, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Matt of Garber, at St. Michael's church, Garber. The Rev. J. J. Olinger officiated. Miss Evelyn Schmalfeld attended her sister as bridesmaid, and Earl Matt attended his brother as best man. Ushers were Herbert Berns and Lawrence Matt.
The bride is a graduate of the Guttenberg public high school with the class of 1940. She has been employed by the American Pearl Button company at Guttenberg. Mr. Matt received his education in the Garber schools and is now engaged in farming.
Upon their return from a wedding trip the new couple will make their home on a farm near Garber.
