Johnson - Leonard marriage - 1941

Miss Evelyn Leonard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Leonard, became the bride of Harvey Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson of Cox Creek township, Tuesday, in St. Joseph's church in Elkader. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. James P. Taken officiated. Mary Leonard, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mary Rothmeyer and Rita Maxine Dalen, cousins of the bride, were the bridesmaids. The groom was attended by his brother, Orvil Johnson. Ring bearer was little Marie Collins, who was followed by Celene and George Leonard as flower girl and boy.

The bride is a graduate of the Strawberry Point high school and Elkader Junior College. She also attended Upper Iowa University and has taught in the rural schools for the past two years. The groom is a successful farmer of Cox Creek township, where the new home will be made.
