Miss Dorleen Aulerich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil F. Aulerich of Monona, became the bride of Don C. Witt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Witt of Elkader, on Wednesday, Aug. 07, 1946, in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Monona. The Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiated. Mrs. Otmar Bruns, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Witt and Mrs. Clark Costigan, sisters of the groom. Gary Bruns, nephew of the bride acted as ringbearer. William E. Witt served his brother as best man. Otmar Bruns and Thomas Walch were ushers.
Mrs. Witt is a graduate of Luana high school and Iowa State college. Mr. Witt is a graduate of Elkader high school and attended the University of Iowa and Iowa State Teachers' college prior to serving four and one-half years in the U.S. Army, the greater share of which was spent in the European theatre of operations.
The new couple left on a honeymoon trip through Wisconsin and Minnesota. After Sept. 1st the couple will make their home in Elkader, where Mrs. Witt will resume her duties as home economics instructor. Mr. Witt is serving his apprenticeship as a mortician and will be associated in business with his father.
