St. John's Lutheran church at Guttenberg was the scene of the wedding of Miss Dorothy Schmalfeld of Chicago, daughter of Mrs. Mahala Schmalfeld of Guttenberg, to Arlyn Brockmeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Brockmeyer of Manchester. The wedding occurred Friday, May 24, and was officiated by Rev. W. F. Domres, pastor. Miss Cloy Ann Schmalfeld served her sister as maid of honor, and Miss Evelyn Schmalfeld and Mrs. Lloyd Matt, also sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids. Ila Lee Tottman, cousin of the groom, was flower girl, and Bobbie Brockmeyer served his brother as ring bearer. The groom was attended by his brother, Neil Brockmeyer. Ushers were Lloyd Matt and Ralph Bellamy, brothers-in-law of the bridal couple.
Mrs. Brockmeyer is a graduate of Guttenberg high school in 1944 and since has been employed with the U.S. Treasury Dept. in Chicago. Mr. Brockmeyer served three years in the Navy and was recently discharged.
The new couple will make their home at 4342 Sheridan Road, Chicago, after June 15.
