    The Washington County Genealogical Society Library housed upstairs in the Main Library now has all that can be had from Washington County in the library. You are encouraged to physically visit this library if possible. None of the materials in this library are available for checkout. Please respect their hard work and do not remove anything from the library room.   Always include a self addressed stamped envelope when writing for assistance and remember to say thank you.  Don't expect other people to pay  your postage or research bills.
 
   Disclaimer:  No claim is made as to accuracy of these files, but are presented as a guide to locating your relatives. Be sure to check all possible spellings.  Census records are often difficult to read and a large range of spellings were used by various census takers.  A German cenus taker would spell a  name differently from an English one. The actual census may even contain a different spelling than that found in the index.  It is the researcher's responsibility to verify their own surnames.
