DEATH of MR. GREELE
A sad accident ocurred (sic) a few miles northwest of the city on Saturday last, which resulted in the death of a Mr. GREELE. From
what can be learned it appears that Mr. GREELE was on his way home from town when his team became frightened and ran away,
upsetting the wagon and throwing him out. When found he was lying under the wagon with the back of his skull crushed in, and
other serious injuries. He was brought to town and placed in a room at the Mansion House and medical assistance called, but his
injuries were such that nothing could be done to relieve him, and he remained unconscious up to the hour of his death which
occurred about one o'clock on Monday. One singular thing is that where the wagon upset was level ground, and another, that the
double-trees and neck-yoke were still with the wagon, while the team was missing.
