Adaline Francis SCOTT was born near Redding, Iowa, on October 9, 1886, the daughter of Nathaniel and Betsy Jane SCOTT. She married on May 22, 1905 to James Augustus SWEENEY and they couple became parents of eleven children. The son of James and Mary SWEENEY, James was born at Hatfield, Missouri March 3, 1887. James died at his home in Mount Ayr on March 17, 1953. Adeline died on June 1, 1973 at Ringgold County Hospital after suffering from a broken hip after a fall. They were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa.
