James Harvey BRAMON was born in Duchess County, New York and served during the Civil War with the 3rd Wisconsin as a blacksmith. He married divorcee Mary Louise (BUCKLIN)
HAENTZE in Wisconsin and raised her son Charles from her first marriage as though the boy was his own son. The BRAMON family moved to Delphos, Kansas, where their first-born child Warren later died at age 13. They eventually settled
on a farmstead located northeast of Delphos, Rice Township in Ringgold County, Iowa. James and Mary were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount
Ayr, Iowa. They share a
gravestone with their surviving son Fred B. and daughter-in-law Luella (YOUNG) BRAMON.
James Harvey BRAMON's obituary may be found in Ringgold County's obituary files.
