Thanks for the info. I had not located them in 1905, nor had I seen the Abbie Leach Bishop obit. Is there any chance I could get you to email it to me? I haven't worked in the Leach family for awhile now, but I have always found Backus and Lida frustrating. I even had wondered if they had followed Mary Leach to Saskatchewan. After hunting her down, I believe the answer is no. However, while we are on the Leach topic, as a whole, their deaths are frustrating. I haven't found anything at all on Sarah Talbott Leach. Have you? If I remember correctly, you are related through Abbie, correct? My great-grandmother is Hulda. I spent quite awhile looking for information on Daniel's burial location. I've finally decided it must have been on the Leach farm. I did finally pull his probate records to verify he died in Elkhart. I wonder if they would be available for Backus in Wright County? Have you, by any chance, tried?
