Salix, Iowa—James Dean Mook, 61, of Salix died Wednesday, December 29, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery in Salix. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home of Sloan, Iowa.

Mr. Mook was born October 13, 1938, in Salix, the son of Roy and Frances Clara (Frangenberg) Mook. He graduated from Salix Consolidated School in 1957.

He married Nadine Olson on June 16, 1962 in Salix. He was the proprietor of Mook’s Repair in Salix for 30 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Tom and his wife, Krista Mook and Tim Mook, all of Sioux City; one daughter, Terrie Mook of Salix; one granddaughter, Sydney Mook; two brothers and their wives, Lloyd and Regina Mook of Kansas City, Mo., and Harold and Charlotte Mook of Arlington, Tenn., and three sisters and their husbands, Betty and Dean Winterriger of Le Mars, Iowa, Pat and Robert Larson of Wauwatson, Wis., and Sheryl and Dave Pyle of Jefferson, S. D.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, DeWayne and one sister, Evelyn Eppel.
