Susannah S. French was born 22 Dec. 1841 in Maine; married Wm. M. French. Census of 1 June 1870 indicates Wm. M. Jr., age 1 was born in IA. Susannah died 13 March 1879 with burial in Freeport Cemetery.
William M French was born 21 Nov. 1811 in CT and died 8 March 1879. Burial in Freeport Cemetery where "a piece or parcel of land set apart by Wm. M. French for a cemetery for the village of Freeport 30 April 1866 ( from the plat of Freeport Cemetery). Rumor has it that the first burial in the cemetery was in a watermelon patch.
