Sumner Family/French Family

Hello,

I need some info regarding the Sumner family.
I have a Susan Sumner born in Maine abt. 1840 and her sister Fannie Sumner born in Maine abt. 1842.
Fannie married a Selden Woodward in 1869 in Cresco Iowa.
Susan, I believe, was married to a William French of Connecticut in Winneshiek, Iowa in the 1860's...possibly in 1862. The problem is, I have info that states that a Susan Taylor or Susan Gaylor married a William M. French in 1862...(I believe this is the marriage I am looking for) BUT... the last name for Susan doesn't fit...Unless she married before. In that case I have info of a Susan Sumner married to a John Baylor in 1861.
So that is my problem to sort out.
I need to know where I can go for clarification of Susan.
I am trying to confirm the identity of the parents of William M. French born in March of 1869 in Freeport, Iowa.
