OBITUARY.
On Saturday last just as the noon hour was striking, Mrs. Joseph Rastetter passed away, after an illness of nine months from locomotor ataxia.
Mrs. Rastetter’s maiden name as Mary Grace Carr. She was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Carr and was born on April 20, 1861, in Boston, Mass. She came to Decorah in 1865 with her parents and here her home has since remained. Her education was secured in the public schools of the city and she was subsequently a successful teacher for several years On April 28, 1884, she was married to Joseph Rastetter. To them five children—Nellie, George, Madeline, Leonard and Walter—all of whom, with their father, survive. She is also survived by her parents and three sisters—Mrs. Ella Wilson of Coeur d’ Aline{sic}, Idaho, Mrs. Margaret Bechel of St. Paul, and Mrs. Gertrude Peters of Sioux Falls.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning June 20th at St. Benedict’s church, Rev. J Hawe officiating, and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery. Many friends and acquaintances gathered to pay a last tribute to one who in her life had been a true friend, and a loving daughter, wife and mother.

Mrs. Joseph Rastetter, who for many years was a resident of Clay Hill, died at her home on Main street in Decorah Saturday about noon, after a long illness of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Rastetter was a very good wife and loving mother and neighbor, and her death will be mourned by all. She leaves to mourn her death, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Carr of Decorah, three sisters, her husband and five children, Nellie, George, Madeline, Leonard and Walter. The funeral services will be held from the St. Bridget’s church to-morrow (Tuesday), morning at 9 o’clock, with interment in the Catholic cemetery.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she died June 17, 1911 and is buried in St. Benedict Cemetery.
