Welcome to the IAGenWeb Saint Benedict Cemetery Page. This document originally summarized data for approximately 1,300 graves by merging the information found in the ongoing Iowa Gravestone Photo Project (IGPP), and the information found in the 1930’s Works Project Administration (WPA) Graves Registration Survey. The previous county coordinator, Bill Waters would periodically update this informaton with information transcribed by his sister, Joy Moore, or new graves submitted by Nancy Pankow. Where available, these tables contain pointers to photos of the deceased. The left columns of the tabulation indicate the source of the summary data GPP (G), WPA (W) and Obits (O). A camera Icon indicates that either an obit or a GPP record or both display a photo of the deceased. Note that some records have more than one source; this is because in many cases the information is redundant. If there is a disagreement, the county coordinator has used his best judgment. Nancy and Joy have continued their work; new records added since 2021 are highlighted in Green.
