OBITUARY.
After months of suffering from cancer of the stomach, Mrs. Thomas Rossley passed into rest last Friday morning at 4:45 o’clock.
Mrs. Rossley’s maiden name was Katherine Cane. She was born in Dreinagh, County Cork, Ireland, Aug. 20, 1840, and was married in February, 1866, to Thos. Rossley. They continued to reside in Ireland until the early spring of 1869 when they came to America and on May 10th settled at Hartford, Wis., where they made their home until 1880. In that year they came to Decorah and here they have since resided. Of nine children born to them three died in infancy. Beside the father, the surviving members of the family are Mrs. Jacob T. Haas, Misses Margaret and Nellie and Edward of Decorah, Mrs. Frank Bull of Helena, Montana, and Mrs. G. A. Ryder of DeWitt. One sister, Mrs. Margaret Dunlevy of Greene, also survives. The funeral was held Sunday morning at 8:30 o’clock at St. Benedict’s church and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Father Mullin was assisted in the services by Father Collins of Dubuque, former assistant priest at St. Benedict's.
Mrs. Rossley was a warm hearted, motherly woman who was always ready with a cheerful word or an act of kindness to help friend or neighbor over the rough places of life, and her memory will be cherished not only in the hearts of her family but by many friends as well.

Mrs. Dunlevy, who was called here by the death of her sister Mrs. Thos. Rossley, returned to her home at Greene Monday. Miss Nellie Rossley accompanied her for a visit.
