Haagen H. Barlow, one of the old and well known residents of Madison township, died last Friday night after a brief illness of a week, the cause of death being a stomach difficulty. Mr. Barlow was a native of Norway where he was born on Oct. 20, 1842. He came to America in 1866 and located on the farm in Madison township where he has since resided. In March, 1867, he was married to Ann Hogenson, who survived him. Mr. Barlow was a good citizen and took an active interest in all things of public interest. The funeral was held Monday at the Union Prairie church, Rev. Paul Koren officiating, and the remains were interred in the Haugen cemetery.
