Services held tor Marcella Puffer
Funeral services for Marcella Puffer of Cresco were held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16 at Notre Dame Parish-St. Joseph's Worship Center in Cresco with Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiating. Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Spillville. Pallbearers were her grandchildren. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Marcella, 91, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.
Marcella Elizabeth Puffer was born May 29, 1911 east of Protivin in Wnneshiek{sic} County, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Novak) Tupy.
On November 6, 1928 she married Joseph Puffer at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville.
She was a homemaker and later worked at a nursing home and spent several years in California taking care of an elderly woman. She was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Church, and was a gold star mother of the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries. Marcella loved animals.
She is survived by two sons: Walter of Ft. Bragg, CA and James of Cresco; one daughter: Marcie Ryan of Cresco; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in June of 1978; one daughter Helen in infancy; two sons: Joseph and Daniel; her parents; six brothers: Charles, Arthur, Victor, Edward, Leonard, and Klement in infancy; and three sisters: Regina Holub, Adela Lei-bold, and Albina Ondrashek.
