Services held for Nina Ramstad, 72
Funeral services for Nina Ramstad of Decorah were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21 at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah with Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating. Interment was in Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado. Schluter Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Nina, 72, died Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility in Decorah after a long illness.
Nina Odella Ramstad was born December 3, 1929, the daughter of Joseph Leonard and Viola Jeannette (Borseth) Skaim. She was baptized and confirmed at the Decorah Lutheran Church, She attended Decorah Community Schools. On June 1, 1947 she married Syver Ramstad at the Decorah Lutheran Church. She worked at Luther College, Mabe’s Pizza and helped clean homes. She volunteered at the Winneshiek Co. Memorial Hospital, Oneota Care Facility, Aase Haugen Nursing Home, and the Barthell Eastern Star Home. She was also a 4-H and Cub Scout Leader.
Nina enjoyed fishing and camping.
She is survived by her husband Syver of Decorah; two sons: Larry of Decorah and John of Rio Linda, CA; one daughter: Carol Franzen of Decorah; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Joan Buhr of Cresco, Shirley Gray of Mauston, WI, and Linda Rauter of Osseo, WI.
Nina was preceded by one great-grandson; her parents; and one brother: Leonard.
