Services held for Kenneth Klimesh
Funeral services for Kenneth Klimesh of rural Ridgeway were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating. Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in Spillville. Pallbearers were : Paul Jirak, Brett Bednar, Dave Riehle, Tony Halverson, Paul Klimesh. Brad Koenig, Steve Bouska, Dave Beastrom, and Ryan Christensen. Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Kenneth, 44, died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at his home of cancer.
Kenneth Walter Klimesh was born December 2, 1957 in Decorah, the son of Waller and Florine (Herold) Klimesh. Ken attended school at St. Wenceslaus in Spillville and graduated from South Winneshiek High School in 1976.
On September 9, 1978 he married Patricia Jirak at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah. He farmed the home farm and worked at Camcar from 1976 till 2000 and at Anundsen Publishing since June of 2000.
He enjoyed farming and hunting.
He was a lifelong member of the St. Wenceslaus Parish.
He is survived by his wife Pat of Ridgeway; three daughters: Jennifer and Michelle of Ridgeway and Karla of Calmar; one son: Jason of Ridgeway; his mother: Florine Elsbernd and husband Romuald of Spillville; four sisters: Sally Koenig of Berlin, WI, Sherry Bouska of Ridgeway, Peggy Beastrom of Cedar Rapids, and Jean Bednar of Hiawatha; one brother: Paul of Winterset; and his grandmother: Gertrude Herold of Decorah.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father: Walter in 1994.
