Spillville- Rose Kuboushek, 96, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, in the Cresco Care Center after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, by the Rev. Donald Hawes. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Balik Funeral Home, Spillville, where there will be a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. and rosary at 7 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard of Spillville and Wesley of Calmar; and a brother, Alois Kovarik of Spillville.

Funeral services for Rose Kuboushek of Spillville were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with interment in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, both at Spillville. Rev. Donald Hawes officiated. Pall bearers were: Leo Sobolik, Tom Kovarik, Adolph Humpal, Jr., Larry Kovarik, Lester Humpal, Stanley Kovarik, and Valley Kuboushek. Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Rose, 96, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco.
Rose Louise Kuboushek was born January 21, 1905 on a farm near Spillville, the daughter of Alois and Emma (Hospodarsky) Kovarik. She attended Spillville schools.
On May 14, 1928 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville she married James Kuboushek. They farmed near Spillville until moving into Spillville in 1968. '
Rose had many flowers and a garden for canning, she also liked to cook, play cards, crochet, and bake kolaches.
She was a lifetime member of St. Wenceslaus Church.
She is survived by two sons: Leonard of Spillville and Wesley of Calmar; eight grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one brother: Alois of Spillville.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband James; her parents; one brother: Edward; and one sister: Celia Brady.
