Stella Phillips

Funeral services for Miss Stella Phillips, 66, who died at her home early Wednesday morning, following a brief illness, were held at her home and St. Wenceslaus Catholic church Saturday morning. Rev. Biskup, pastor, offered the requiem high mass and officiated at the graveside service. Miss Phillips apparently became ill before retiring Tuesday night and was found dead in her home Wednesday morning about 10 o’clock by her neighbors. The deceased was a resident of Spillville for 18 years, coming here from a farm east of town where she was born in 1878. Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Christina Humpal of near Spillville, Mrs. Mary Humpal, Rockford, Ill., and Anna in California. Her parents and two brothers have preceded her in death. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews.
