Mrs. Mary Fisher

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Fisher, 74, of Spillville, who died at her home here late Thursday evening, April 12, following a several months illness, were held on Monday morning from her home to the St. Wenceslaus Catholic church at 9:30 o’clock. The Rev. Alphonse Biskup, pastor, officiated. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery beside her husband. Mrs. Fisher was born near Spillville as Mary Moravetz in 1870. She was married 58 years ago to James Fisher who passed away in 1927. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher resided on their farm east of here until 1925 when they retired and moved to Spillville.

Survivors are three sons, Edward on the farm, Adolph of Scotia, Neb., and Arthur of Spillville, seven grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Rose Soukup, Spillville, Mrs. Victoria Stiburek of Idaho, a half-sister Mrs. Frank (Celia) Humpal of near Ridgeway, one brother, Frank Moravetz, in Montana and a daughter-in-law Mrs. Mary Fisher of Strawberry Point. Besides her husband a son, William preceded her in death.
