John Silhacek

Funeral services were held here Monday morning at 10 o’clock at the St. Wenceslaus church for John Silhacek, 84, whose death occurred Friday, Jan. 7th at his home, following a long illness.

The Revs. J. P. Broz and V. J. Hlubek conducted the services. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. His survivors include his wife and one son, James, who resides on the old homestead near Spillville. A daughter (Mary) Mrs. Ed Novak, preceded him in death in April 1936. There are five grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Novak and Mrs. Matt Shindelar of this vicinity also survive. The funeral was attended by a large number of relatives and friends.
