Helen Novak

Funeral services for Helen Novak, 23, who passed away Friday, July 8, after a year’s illness, were held here on Monday morning at 10 o’clock at the St. Wenceslaus church. Rev. V. J. Hlubek officiated at the final rites assisted by Rev. J. P. Broz who delivered the sermon. The services were attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. Besides her grief-stricken mother she is survived by three sisters, Christine and Lydia at home and Mrs. Mary Tupy of near Spillville and two brothers, Louis and John. Her father, Francis Novak preceded her in death in August, 1937. The deceased was a young lady of good habits and a sweet personality. She will be sadly missed in the home and by her countless friends who extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family. She was a member of the Catholic Sokols who attended the funeral in a body and also the Spillville band, the members of which played a farewell number at the graveside.
