Alois Kovarik
Friends and relatives learned with deepest sorrow Thursday afternoon, Jan. 4, of the sudden passing of Alois Kovarik at his home southwest of Spillville at the age of 63 years. He was assisting with the chores at his farm home when he was stricken and lived but a short time. Mr. Kovarik was born in Spillville in 1876 and was married to Emma Hospodarsky in 1904, who survives with the following children: Mrs. Rose Kuboushek of near Spillville; Mrs. Celia Brady in New Mexico; Ed Kovarik near Protivin and Louis at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Chehak and Mrs. Victoria Barta and four brothers, Peter, Joseph, William and Anton Kovarik. Funeral services were held Monday at the home and at St. Wenceslaus Catholic church at 10 o’clock. The Rev. Alphonse Biskup officiated. Burial was in St. Wenceslaus cemetery.
