Services held for Richard Taylor

Funeral services for Richard Taylor of Spillville were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating. Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in Spillville. Honorary pallbearers were: Catholic Workman Branch #33. Pallbearers were his grandchildren. Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Richard, 86, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at the Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI as a result of an auto accident near Mabel, MN.

Richard Wenceslaus Taylor was born November 8, 1916 in Spillville the son of John and Christina (Jarosh) Taylor. He attended country school and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and Spillville High School.

On August 28, 194 he married Camilla Tupy at the Assumption Catholic Church in Little Turkey. He farmed for many years until they retired and moved to Spillville in 1981.

Richard enjoyed making things grow, fishing, playing cards and bingo.

He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Catholic Workman, Legion of Mary and the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife Camilla of Spillvile; five sons: Richard of New Hampton, Ron of Morehead, KY, Lores of Rochester, MN, Dave of Spillville, and John of Ft. Atkinson; one daughter: Ann Wenthold of Ft. Atkinson; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother: Howard of Spillville; and two sisters: Angela Loesch of Spillville and Arlene Klimesh of Ft. Atkinson.

Richard was preceded in death by one son: Alan; his parents; and one sister: Harriet Frana.
