Mrs. Frank Kalec
Mrs. Frank Kalec, 71 years old a life long resident of Spillville, died at 5 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 8, at her home here, following an illness of several years duration. As Barbara Poshusta she was born at Spillville, June 3, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Poshusta. She was married to Frank Kalec Nov. 11, 1890. To this union five children were born., three daughters, Mrs. Jos. Hruska of Lawler, Mrs. Frank Frana of Calmar and Anna at home, two sons, Joseph and Lewis, both of Spillville. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Mary Bily of near Spillville and a brother, Jas. Poshusta of Minneapolis and several grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Wenceslaus Catholic church with the Rev. J. P. Chihak celebrating the requiem mass. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The deceased was respected and beloved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed by her faithful husband and children to whom we extend sympathy in their sorrow.
