Mrs. Eva Armstrong

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Armstrong who passed away Monday at her home here, were held at the time at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. L. J. Faris, pastor of the Methodist church officiated and interment was made in the Ridgeway cemetery.

The pall bearers were H. G. Gunhus, O. A. Fosse, Norman Kecker, John Gesell, Ed. Hovden and Orville Allen.

Mrs. Armstrong, nee Eva Holmes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Holmes was born at Janesville, Wis., Feb. 15, 1853. When a child she moved with her parents to Sandusky, Wis., where she grew to young womanhood. On Feb. 15, 1872, she was united in marriage to Xenia Armstrong, who preceded her in death several years ago. Since her marriage she has lived in Ridgeway with the exception of three or four years when the home was made in Wisconsin and Illinois.

Mrs. Armstrong leaves to mourn her departure, three sons, Eugene, Ray and Charles, all of Ridgeway, three daughters, Mrs. Jas. Farghum and Miss Hattie Armstrong of Ridgeway and Mrs. Mabel Kratz of Cresco; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Dano of Tomah, Wis., and Mrs. Rose Badgley of Mather, Wis.; also 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Two children in infancy, two sisters and two brothers, preceded her in death. Much sympathy is extended to the family and the many friends and relatives who mourn her departure.

Among those attending the funeral were Mrs. Ella Dano, Mrs. Lavern Hill of Tomah, Wis.; Mrs. Rose Badgley and son Willie of Mather, Wis.; Mrs. Arnold Albertson and Lois, Mrs. Harvey Eggen, Mrs. Arthur Eggen of Decorah, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Whitmire, Mrs. Anna Libbey, Mrs. Chas. Beucher, Mrs. Mary Albers, Mrs. Lena Hornberger, Mrs. Ness, Mrs. Cameron of Cresco, Mr. and Mrs. Lenhart of Quasqueton and Mrs. Floyd Weed of Northfield, Minn.
