Frank Wagner, age 92 of Spillville died Monday March 21, 2005 at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be on Friday March 25, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville by Rev. Donald Hawes. Burial will be in the church cemetery

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, with a rosary at 5:00; and also after 9 a.m. at the Funeral Home on Friday

Frank Louis Wagner was born March 28, 1912 to Frank and Mary (Pecinovsky) Wagner on the family farm near Protivin, Iowa. Frank attended the country school near his home. Frank married Angeline Haskovec on June 3, 1940 at Our Lady of Lourdes at Lourdes, Iowa. Frank and Angie farmed near Ridgeway when they were first married, then moved to a farm near Cresco and later to Cresco, where Frank worked for Drollingers Hardware. In 1950, they moved to Spillville, where they owned and operated the Riverside Cafe. Frank also worked for Central Motors in Spillville for many years, retiring in 1983. Frank liked to fish, hunt and take care of his garden. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member, former city council person in Spillville and a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Frank is survived by his wife, Angie of Spillville, IA.; two daughters: Delores Koch (Bob) of Decorah, IA. and Lois Meyer (Arnie) of Spillville, IA., four grandchildren: Kimberly Koch of Vista CA, Kari Koch of West Des Moines, IA, Angela Moore (Dave) of Boise ID, and Aaron Meyer of Orlando, FL; two great-grandchildren: Cordar Moore and AJ D’Ottavio; a brother, Adolph Wagner of Decorah, IA.; a sister, Clara Kalec of Decorah, IA.; and a sister–in–law, Ursula Wagner of Protivin, IA.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Wagner; and two sisters: Emma Horn and Mae Wagner.
