In Response To: "LANIGAN OBITUARIES" (Mary Lanigan)

Mary,

I'll give you what I found in order:
1. There is no obituary for James Lanigan. There is a death notice in the Ottumwa Courier of May 12, 1899. The only genealogical information that it contains is that he was 66 and was buried in the Catholic Cemetery. I looked in the listings for Calvary Catholic Cemetery and he is not listed
2. I cannot find anything on James Lanigan. There are 2 Mary Lanigan(s) listed in the Calvary cemetery. One is Mary E. Lanigan who died on 28 Mar 1827 and the other is Mary Lanigan who died on 13 Apr 1909 at the age of 76. I checked there are no obituaries on either.
3. James Lanigan and his wife Anna are buried in Calvary. His tombstone lists his date of death as 1952 and that Anna was born on 23 Sep 1888 and died on 1 Oct 1963. There are 4 Other Lanigans in the same plot: Julie, who died on 23 Jan 1930 at the age of 66; Margie, who has no death information at all; Sarah, same story; and Tim who died on 26 Nov 1933 at the age of 68. It is most likely that either Margie or Sarah is the infant daughter that you seek.

Sorry I could not have been more help.
