Hello Gordon, did your Asa Phillips come from Madison Co. or Union Co., Ohio before going to Iowa? My gggrandfather, Col. Daniel Kent married Ann Jane Phillips in Madison,Ohio and had 2 children before he went to Van Buren Co. Iowa in abt.1850. Ann Jane died when she was 24 yrs. and left a son Marion Kent. Daniel remarried and with his new wife came to Iowa with Marion and a stepson. I found an Asa Phillips in Madison,Ohio and perhaps he is the same one in Van Buren,Iowa. I have been trying for years to find Ann Jane's family. Can you help?
