James Crandall who married Jemmina Brown in Van Buren Co., Iowa was a son of Jacob James Crandall and Jane Newberry. Jacob was a son of John Crandall and John Crandall and Magadalene Woods.

This family mig. from New Pletz, New York and were strong Latter Day Saints.

Jacob and Jane were married in Mo. and were part of the Saints that were run out of Mo. in the Joseph Smith problems.
