Nancy Crandall who married William Ansel Smith, was a daughter of Simon Crandall and Sarah Whitney. Simon and Sarah died in California. They married in possibly NY. Simon Crandall is a son of John Candall and Magdalene Wood Crandall.

William Ansel Smith was a son of Jesse Smith and Hester Freer Smith.

All of the above migrated from NY.

In the case of the Crandall family they were Latter Day Saints.

The Crandall married into the Smith family. Oldest daughter of Jesse and Hester married Patrick Crandall. They are buried in Shelby Co., Iowa, and a lot of there children and grandchildren.

I am not sure where Jesse and Hester Smith are buried. Would love to know, as I am a great great great great granddaughter through there daugher Sarah who married Isaac Scalf.

In the case of the Scalf family they removed to Texas and lived and died there.
