Shirley,
Just to add a bit to Samuel Langley... It is thought that he is brother or Uncle to Joseph Langley of Hancock Co IL. Joseph and Samuel owned land together and Sam'l sold his land to Joseph 1839. Sam'l is not found after that in Hancock Co IL, but this Van Buren Co IA Samuel seems to match up with mine. I see on the census one of his children's names is Joseph. Also Martha his first wife may be the wife of S Langley burried in VanBuren Co. If anyone knows of these Langley's please respond.
