I am searching for any info on Samuel Langley whose 1st wife was Martha Carter and 2d wife was Melinda Tompkins. He was the Uncle of my gg-grandmother, Elizabeth "Betsy" Langley born 1823 PA, wife/widow of John Grayham/Graham b ca 1820, of Plymouth, Van Buren Co., Iowa, and daughter of James W. Langley and Judith Mattox of Chidester, Ouachita Co., Arkansas. John's parents, the William Grayhams/Grahams, lived at Plymouth, also. I am also interested in any info on this Graham family. When the parents died in Plymouth, John's four bros. left there on horseback. The oldest took the youngest with him and they are believed to have gone to the Carolinas. Each of the other bros. went in different directions. John Graham died of pneumonia while building a mill on a river in or near Plymouth in the late summer of 1850. Elizabeth and their son, Jasper Newton Graham, age 2, lived with Uncle Sam Langley and his two old maid daughters for three months before returning by boat/ship to her mother's home in Ark. My great-grandfather, John Wesley Graham, was born March 9, 1851 in Ouachita Co., Ark.
