HARRY MCINTOSH DIES NOV. 23

Funeral services for Harry L. McIntosh, 80, prominent Van Buren County farmer who died at his home near Keosauqua at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 23, were held at Center Chapel United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25. The Rev. James M. Ford, pastor conducted the service, with burial at Center Chapel Cemetery. Military rites were in charge of Beer-Barker Post, American Legion, Keosauqua. A memorial fund payable to the church has been established.

The son of John and Lizzie Wiley McIntosh, he was born Nov. 2, 1890 near Mt. Sterling. At the age of two months he moved with his parents to the present home southeast of Keosauqua and lived his entire life there.

On Feb. 1916 he married Edna Gulick, who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Boecker of Keosauqua; a grandaughter; a brother, Curtis McIntosh of Keosauqua; three nephews and one niece, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

An infant son, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. McIntosh served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was a charter member of the Beer-Barker American Legion Post in Keosauqua.

He was a lifetime member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church and served on its official board many years. He was also a charter member of the Van Buren County Farm Bureau and a director of the former Keosauqua Cooperative Creamery Association. For a number of years he was an ASCS fieldman and served on the Henry Township election board for half a century.

The casket was taken from Pedrick Funeral Home at Douds to Center Chapel Church at noon on Wednesday.
