MRS. ROY MATHIES

Mrs. Alice E. Mathes [sic], 81, widow of A. Roy Mathies, died Sunday evening at the home of her daughter northwest of Birmingham.

She was born Feb. 11, 1888, near Birmingham, the daughter of David and Laura Taylor Ramsey. She married Mr. Mathies on Dec. 18, 1909. He died April 30, 1931.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Woodrow of Birmingham; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Iva Mercer of Packwood. One son and three brothers also preceded her in death.

The services were Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Burch Funeral Home with the Rev. Millard Marshall officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
