Hoo boy Cindie, Every once in a while, families come along that seem to have done their best to avoid detection by their descendents searching for them in the future. Yours appear to be in that group. I did find James & Margaret Talty and their daughter Lucy in 1880 Dubuque, Dubuque co. Lucy has older sibs, Frank, Agnes & Margaret. James & Margaret are still in Dubuque in 1900 and there is a daughter Annie 28, living with them. I thought this was your Lucy and she was not yet married because I also found a single 27 y/o Henry Ludwig, born Il. there as well. Priblem is I can't find young Henry & Lucy 'til 1930 where they appear in Waterloo in Black Hawk co. I don't think that Carroll co, Ia Ludwig family is yours. I find both a Henry & a Martin Ludwig on a couple census records but they were both born in Ia.They were probably brothers but I didn't go back on earlier records to check. I'll keep working on this as my schedule permits and if you can come up with any add'l info, it would help. Do you have access to any of the census records? And if you need any of what I found, I can send the census images to you as attachments. Dick
