Cindie, A time frame is essential in any post. "Blanket" surname searches are not a good idea either. You are obviously not related to every Talty, Finan, or Ludwig who ever lived. What is Magdelina/Lena's surname and when born? If you are fairly new to genealogical research, you might begin with what you know on your families & work backwards working on one surnamed family at a time. There are many knowledgeable volunteers out here who will help you but they too, have to have some basic data on exactly who you are looking for. Dick
