Owen Nervig was the second oldest child of Amund Torbjornsen of Nervik (Amos T. Nervig in U.S.). Originally emigated to Moscow, Wisconsin. Moved to Slater Iowa area sometime after 1872. Owen's older brother was Thomas Nervig who was my great-grandfather. He also moved from Wisconsin to the Slater area around 1869. I believe there were nine siblings who came to the U.S. after Amund sold his farm in Etne Norway to a relative. I hope this helps a little.
