WHITE ADOPTED NAME OR AN UNKNOWN BIOLOGICAL NAME

My great-grandmother, Mildred E. White, is supposedly the ADOPTED daughter of Fred H. White and Kate A. White who lived in Grant, Story County, Iowa. She was supposedly born Nov. 15, 1897 and died in 1989 in Oregon (on Nov. 15). I am trying to find out her real parents and I don't know where to look because it seems as if her adopted parents did all the right things to make her appear a legitimate child of theirs. However, we have always been told that she was adopted, but she never wanted to talk about it. Any direction, suggestions, etc., would be great. Thanks! --Jamie
