Dear Joan, It must be very strange for you to receive this e-mail from Belgium. However we are family! Arie van Meveren, who married Eva Blom, was the son of Gerrit van Meveren, who was the son of Pieter van Meveren who married Neeltje van den Berg in 1821 in Holland. Pieter and Neeltje emigrated on board the copper clad frigate Catharina Jackson. They left holland as listed on the passengers manifest on 22-05-1847 from Rotterdam to Baltimor tohether with their 4 children,Pieternella, Gerard,Willempje and Gerrit ,and settled in Pella. Pieter van Mever, (notice the different name) was born in 1797 in holland and was listed by mistake as van Meveren. Pieter was the son of Aart van Mever,(correct name) born in 1760 and married to Petronella Baggerman. Aart was te son of Ruth van Mever and Adriaantje van Weyen. Ruth was born in 1735 in holland and was the son of Aart van Mever, born in holland . The birthdate of Aart we do not know as a fire destroyed the records in his birthplace. We know this to be very true and have the complete family-tree of the van Mever family. Also in Holland we have misspellings into Van Meever,as they were not very literate. If you want more information please ask. Could you e-mail the family-tree of the Van meveren family, as this is rather difficult to find from Belgium. Best regards, Kees van mever.
