Brenda, the surnames you mention are my family ancestors. Wilhemtje Van Meeveren (Meveren) and her second husband Jan (John) Blom are my ggg grandparents on my dad's side. Their daughter Neeltje (Nellie)Blom married Sytse (Sietse/Simon) Jans Van Dijk (Dyk/Dyke)of Hospers who had come over in 1881. His occ. in 1910 there was listed as Marshall. One of their seven (maybe eight)kids was my g grandmother, Wilhelmina (Minnie) Van Dijk (Dyk/Dyke). She married Leffert (Louis) Sierks DeBoer of Kollum, Netherlands who came over in 1891. Nellie died in 1905 and he married Akke (Agnes) Rienzes Hofman (nee Plat)who had some children of her own. One of Simon's girls married one of her boys as well. Louis and Minnie had my grandpa Charles DeBoer and he and Mabel Martin had my dad, Melvin DeBoer. Will be willing to share any info and pictures. I still need to get in touch with Marcia Vos Price who is also researching these names. Can't wait to hear from you and find out how you are related.
