Ann, this is what I have on my Bennett line. My mother states that in documents written by Vera Bennett Rowe (her aunt) it does not indicate if Joseph Hall was married prior to his marriage to Nancy Metz. Joseph Hall and Nancy Metz Bennett were married after the death of her husband (assuming that she was married to Mr. Bennett). The following is a descending outline:
(unknown Bennett) born abt 1800
Nancy Metz born 9-29-1810(Nancy married Joseph Hall and had the following children: Joseph Hall Jr, William, Martha Ann, Frank, Sarah Louise, Ethel, Lila Fern).
children of (unknown) Bennett and Nancy Metz:
(1) George Washington Bennett born abt 1830died 8-30-1872
Elizabeth Frioni Fish
married 8-12-1852
children:(1) George Edgar Bennett born 12-25-1872
died 6-2-1958
Edith Maude Farmer

(3) Johnny Bennett died young
(4) Margaret Bennett
