Orphan Rider/Iowa/Great Grandmother

AXTELL, MARIETTA

My sister found a reference to a Marietta Axtell, who evidently was an orphan train rider who was placed in the town of Lawler, IA, with either the Andrew Barnes or James Hand family. My father's family was originally from Lawler, and we have often been told that not much was known concerning his mother's origins, but that she had been one of the orphan train children placed in Iowa. My aunt who recently died, seemed to remember that her mother's original name was Marietta Axtell, as one of her children was named Marietta after her grandmother.
Just wondering if any other information would be available and where/how to find it.
